Every year, India pays its respect to the “Iron Man” of the country, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s Birth Anniversary is observed as ‘Rashtriya Ekta Divas’ or National Unity Day. This year was no different with events across the nation marking the day.

Remembering the Visionary Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to social media, notably on platform X (formerly known as Twitter), expressing reverence to Sardar Patel. He acknowledged Patel’s visionary statesmanship and the dedication that shaped India’s destiny. “His commitment to national integration continues to guide us,” the Prime Minister remarked.

Daredevil Stunts in Gujarat A highlight was the daredevil stunts event by CRPF’s women personnel, held at the colossal Statue of Unity near Kevadia in Gujarat. The Prime Minister was in attendance, commemorating the occasion. Furthermore, artists from villages near the India-China border added to the celebration with their performances.

Unity Rally in New Delhi At New Delhi’s Patel Chowk, a series of events took place with President Droupadi Murmu, Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in attendance. Shah flagged off the ‘Run for Unity’ rally from Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, followed by a Unity oath. Emphasizing Patel’s role in national unity, Shah recalled how the first Home Minister of India was instrumental in uniting the principalities that were divided by the British.

Activities Across States In Uttar Pradesh’s capital, Lucknow, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh announced the forthcoming launch of ‘Mera Yuva Bharat’ by PM Modi during the ‘Run for Unity’ rally. This program aims to provide the youth an opportunity to actively participate in nation-building.

Tributes by Congress The Congress also remembered Sardar Patel. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge posted his tribute on platform X (Formerly Twitter), expressing gratitude to Patel for uniting India. He referred to Patel as the nation’s source of inspiration.
