In a horrifying turn of events, the city of Lewiston, Maine, faced an atrocious mass shooting incident on Wednesday evening, which tragically ended the lives of at least 22 innocent people, leaving over 50 more wounded. This dreadful incident has left the city in a state of shock and mourning.

City Councilor Robert McCarthy confirmed the heartbreaking news to CNN, stating that the death toll had alarmingly risen to 22. The shootings transpired in multiple locations across the city, including a bustling bowling alley, a local favorite bar, and a Walmart distribution center.

As the investigation is intensively underway, the local police of Lewiston have released an image of Robert Card, naming him as a ‘person of interest’ in connection to the massacre. The 40-year-old is currently considered ‘armed and dangerous’ by law enforcement.

“Authorities are in an urgent pursuit to locate Robert Card, born on April 4, 1983, in relation to the mass shooting incidents at Schemengees Bar and Sparetime Recreation. The card is deemed armed and dangerous. The public is urged to contact law enforcement immediately if they have any information on his whereabouts,” stated the official police notification.

Digging deeper into Card’s background, he is revealed to be a firearms instructor with the US Army Reserve. In a shocking revelation, he recently disclosed his struggles with mental health, admitting to experiencing auditory hallucinations and harboring intentions to attack the National Guard Base in Saco. Consequently, he was briefly institutionalized in a mental health facility during the summer of 2023 but was subsequently released.

Further investigations have unveiled a disturbing history of domestic violence and other criminal activities linked to Card, according to a report by Macra.

The community is now grappling with the aftermath of this tragedy, as law enforcement and city officials tirelessly work to bring justice to the victims and their families. The incident has opened up a much-needed dialogue about gun control and mental health awareness in the community, as they collectively seek ways to prevent such a horrific event from happening in the future.

Police asked the locals to stay inside their homes with the doors locked as there is an active shooter in Lewiston. The law enforcement is strictly investigating at multiple locations said to the Maine State Police.
